MONKEY: Journey to the west!

Fusionando el pasado y el futuro

imagínate mezclar Gorillaz y la estética del Circo Nacional Chino, fusionar una historia legendaria con una estética actual, eso es MONKEY, Journey to the west!

El nuevo espectáculo ha surgido de la mezcla entre Chen Shi-Zheng, director de escena, Damon Albarn (Gorillaz, Blur...) compositor musical polivalente y de Jamie Hewlett (creador de los personajes de Gorillaz) como diseñador de vestuario, personajes y animación.

Este evento está basado en un libro prohibido por la Revolución Cultural China, que cuenta una historia de más de 400 años de antigüedad sobre las andanzas del Rey Mono. Todo un universo visual y sonoro que tendrá lugar en el Manchester International Festival del 28 de junio al 7 de julio en la ciudad británica del mismo nombre. Actualmente se puede ver en Sottie Theatre en Chaleston, USA hasta el 8 de junio.

Fusing the past and the future

Imagine to mix Gorillaz and the aesthetics of the National Chinese Circus, to fuse a legendary history with a current aesthetics, this is MONKEY, Journey to the west! The new spectacle has arisen from the miscellany between Chen Shi-Zheng, stage manager, Damon Albarn (Gorillaz, Blur ...) musical polyvalent composer and of Jamie Hewlett (creator of the personages of Gorillaz) as designer of wardrobe and animation.

This event is based on a book prohibited by the China Cultural's Revolution , which counts a history of more than 400 years of antiquity on the adventures of Monkey King. The whole visual and musical universe that will take place in Manchester International Festival from June 28 until July 7 in the British city of the same name. At present it is possible to see in Sottie Theatre in Chaleston, USA until June 8.

Este diseñador de BCN se apasiona con cada proyecto y crea un universo personal y paralelo. Ilustraciones muy cuidadas y lettering a saco. Ha trabajado para clientes potentes con encargos de luxe. Tuve de la suerte de coincidir con el en un workshop del sensei Rousselot y me pareció un tipo muy majete y cheza, cuando me dijo que había currado en Vasava, flipe a colores, os dejo con Alex y toda su parafernalia, barroquismo hacía el éxito. This designer of Barcelona gets excited with every project and creates a personal and parallel universe. He designs very elegant illustrations and lettering in plenty. It has worked for powerful clients with luxurious orders. I had of the luck of coinciding with with a workshop of the typographer Rousselot and it looked like to me a very nice type and "cheza", when he said to me that it had been employed at Vasava, I remained fascinated, I leave you with Alex and all his paraphernalia, baroque was doing the success. Villa Eugénie es una compañía organizadora de eventos, con base en Bruselas y creada por el belga-italo Ettiene Russo. La expresión "organizar eventos" puede sonar como algo muy amplio o indefinido, en el caso de esta empresa hablamos de unos montajes espectaculares para presentaciones de alta joyería, magazines, negocios, arte, perfumes, moda y, sobre todo y ante todo, rollito fashion. Muuuuy fashion.
En su web podemos ver sesiones fotográficas de muchos de los susodichos saraos, aunque para acceder a la mayoría de ellos es necesario registrarse.
